Habima National Theatre of Israel Presents A RAILWAY TO DAMASCUS, Jan.16-Feb.6


Habima National Theatre of Israel presents "A Railway to Damascus" by Hillel Mitelpunkt from January 16 to February 6, 2012.

On the background of Mandatory Palestine lies a complex tale, in which a story of betrayal, a story of forbidden love and the battle of the Jewish Underground are tangled one to the other.

Haifa, 1942: The German Army approaches Israel, the tension between Jews and Arabs increases, the British Army prepares for retreat… In the midst of those anxious days, Sarah, the play's hero, continues to thread a dream of a better world, while fighting for the survival of herself and of her loved ones.

"A Railway to Damascus" deals with the desperate longing for love and understanding, at the peak of one of Israel's most uneasy times.

The production is directed by Ilan Ronen, has set and costume design by Ruth Dar, music by Ori Vidislavski, lighting design by Micha Margalit, video design by Arik Avigdor, speech (English) by Herzl Tobey, speech (Hebrew) by Asi Eshed, research by Rami Semo, the production manager is Lior Almagor, assistant director is Michal Isaak, and the assistant designer is Er'el Dar.

The Cast features Jenya Dodina, Tomer Ben-David, Hila Feldman, Gasan Abbas, Yousef 'Joe' Sweid, Ishai Golan, Roy Miller, Eli Danker, Daria Alufi, Adi Bar-Lev, Roy Miller, and Shahar Raz.
