Swan Lake at Cork Opera House

The Moscow Ballet delighted audiences in Dublin, Drogheda, Cork & Limerick last October with their production of The Nutcracker. This year they will perform Tchaikovskys first ballet Swan Lake, an all time favourite with ballet lovers, it tells the story of Prince Siegfried and Princess Odette.
While hunting Prince Siegfried sees a magnificent swan, as he takes aim the swan turns into a beautiful woman, this is Princess Odette, the victim of an evil sorcerers spell, she spends her daylight hours as a swan, swimming in a lake of tears, by night she becomes a woman again.
The spell will be broken only if a virgin prince swears eternal love to her.
