Centre Culturel Irlandais with Cork Midsummer Festival and The Everyman, in association with the French Embassy in Ireland, DFA and the Irish Embassy and Senegalese embassy in France Present Fte de la Musique Senegal, France, Ireland: A Hip Hop Celebration SAT 25 JUN 2022 Live at The Everyman Fte de la Musique Senegal, France, Ireland: A Hip Hop Celebration is coming to The Everyman as a part of the Cork Midsummer Festival. 9 artists based in 3 countries come together for the first time to present performances in Paris, Cork and Dakar. Following a creative residency and concert in CCI Paris for the French national festival of music (Fte de la Musique), Dakar-based Doctor L (aka Liam Farrell) presents this new collaboration of international artists to Irish audiences. Come and experience the results of this joyful melting-pot, discover these energising artists and celebrate the music of rap and hip-hop, electrosoul, RnB, afro-futurism and beatbox. As France and Ireland forge ever-deeper ties by way of a Joint Plan of Action, and the Irish government gives priority to developing strong partnerships with francophone West African countries, opening its first Embassy in the region in Dakar at the end of the year, this ambitious initiative gathers artists from France, Senegal and Ireland for performances at Fte de la Musique in Paris, Cork Midsummer Festival and the inauguration of the Embassy of Ireland in Dakar. Vibrant relations will develop not just between governments but also between people with such innovative cultural projects.
