After a huge volume of submissions and a lengthy selection process, the writers who will be showcased at British Musical Futures have been chosen. They are Stephanie Amies & Teddy Clements, Nick Barstow, Tim Connor, Ben Frost & Richard Hough, Tim Gilvin and John Kristian. The evening will be hosted by award-winning writing partnership George Stiles and Anthony Drewe and will take place on 19th April 2015 at the St James Studio. The cast for the concert will feature a number of West End stars, led by Emma Williams and Aaron Sidwell.

Emma Williams is a two-time Olivier Award nominee, and was recently nominated for a Manchester Theatre Award for her portrayal of Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun. She has also appeared in numerous TV and film dramas including The Parole Officer, Bleak House, First Night, Marple and Casualty, as well as several productions for BBC Radio.

Aaron Sidwell's career began at 18 when he was cast in the BBC's long running drama Eastenders playing the role of Steven Beale. His theatre credits include Michael Dork in Olivier Award nominated Loserville: The Musical (West Yorkshire Playhouse & Garrick Theatre West End, Original Cast), Michael Carrington in Cool Rider Live (Lyric and Duchess Theatre West End, Original Cast), Carl Bruner in Ghost: The Musical (English Theatre Frankfurt), Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet (Open Air Tour) and Jack Sprat in the UK No1 Tour Carnaby Street - The Musical.

Stephanie Amies and Teddy Clements met at the University of Southampton. They have worked together for six years on over 20 different projects and officially formed their partnership in 2014; this will be their first public performance of their work as a writing duo. They are currently working on their first show together, 'Tomorrow, Maybe' which is due to be performed in Southampton in May.

Nick Barstow trained as a musical director at the University of Oxford and University of London. His ballad 'The Little Match Girl' was recorded by Olivier Award winner Janie Dee for broadcast on BBC Radio's 'Loose Ends', hosted by Ned Sherrin. A new studio recording of the song was released by Auburn Jam Records in Christmas 2014 to raise funds for TheatreMAD. Tim's cabaret songs have been performed at numerous established London venues including Crazy Coqs, Soho Theatre and Wilton's Music Hall.

Ben Frost and Richard Hough have been writing together since 2010. Their first project was Nightmare on Sunset Boulevard, a musical short story commissioned for The Cochrane Theatre, London. Since then, they have written a full-length original musical called Possession; a one-woman musical that looks like a cabaret, called Sin; and an action-adventure reworking of Jules Verne's Around the World in Eighty Days. They are currently writing a new musical adaptation of A Christmas Carol for production at The Castle Theatre, Wellingborough.

Tim Gilvin grew up in Swindon. Whilst at the University of Birmingham, he started writing his first musical In the Rush Hour. Since graduating, Tim has written four more musicals: Gap Year: A Musical Comedy (Leicester Square Theatre); Kate and the Devil (workshop at King's Head); the as yet unfinished 1001 Nights, and Stay Awake, Jake - winner of the S&S Award 2014.
