SLATTERY'S SAGO SAGA Plays Rathfarnham Castle, Dublin 14, Opens 7/17

By: Jul. 17, 2010

The Performance Corporation is proud to present the world première of Slattery's Sago Saga. Flann O'Brien's unfinished comic masterpiece is wonderfully brought to life by Arthur Riordan - writer of award-winning international hit Improbable Frequency.

One part carnival, one part surreal satire on modern Ireland, Slattery's Sago Saga promises to be an unforgettable theatrical adventure played out in the historic halls of Rathfarnham Castle.

Jo Mangan will direct a cast including Malcolm Adams, Clare Barrett, Darragh Kelly, Lisa Lambe and Louis Lovett.

Slattery's Sago Saga is the tale of Tim Hartigan, whose quiet life as dogsbody of Poguemahone Hall is shattered by the arrival of a Scotch woman with a ridiculously evil plan. And just round the corner, utter confusion awaits in the shape of a politically-correct Leprechaun, a beautiful typist and a tycoon T.D. bent on bankrupting the country.

The Performance Corporation are the resident theatre company at Castletown House, Celbridge, Co Kildare, and are supported in their work by The Arts Council, Kildare County Council and OPW. Slattery's Sago Saga is supported by The Civic Theatre, Tallaght.
