New series of Classes Announced at Roscommon Arts Centre
By: Gabrielle Sierra
Roscommon Arts Centre, who recently launched their new September - December Autumn programme, have just announced a new season of workshops and classes for both children and adults. These range from dance and music to theatre and visual art. More details of all classes are included in the new brochure which is available at the box office, by calling 090 6625824 or by checking the website www.roscommonartscentre.ie
Children and young people will have no shortage of things to do this autumn with plenty of classes for all ages and abilities at the arts centre. Musicians John Wynne and Fiona Doherty return again with their popular traditional music classes for children and teenagers. A well-known local musician, John teaches students both tin whistle and flute and has grown a steady following in class over the last few years. Fiona Doherty teaches fiddle and banjo and her small classes are designed to allow each child to have individual attention. Class sizes are purposely kept small to allow each participant the chance to get one-on-one training.Artist Anja Sammon begins a bran new after-school art class this Autumn, taking place over thirteen weeks from September right through until December. Specifically geared towards primary school children, participants will discover new skills from painting to construction, print and design and can look forward to taking their artwork home with them every week. Anja has many years experience working with children and has also worked in numerous arts centre around the country.
