This June Roscommon Arts Centre has chosen events with primary schools in mind. Bearing in mind the increased costs incurred by schools, Roscommon Arts Centre has subsidized these shows ensuring that the ticket price per student is kept to a minimum.

The first events this June is A Bag of Queens, on Wednesday 6th June 11am, a play with a performed by the exceptionally talented Little John Nee. A Bag of Queens focuses on human relationships, how we perceive ourselves and feelings of being different in a new community, giving children an appreciation into the power of random acts of kindness. The show includes live music and song with participation and features a set that is like a “pop-up” museum. A perfect end-of-year school treat for all the school! Tickets are just €5 per child and schools can reserve through the box office at 090 6625824.

As part of the cinema programme the arts centre will screen Film Shorts for Young Audiences, a 50 minute session ten mini-films from around the world for little people to feast their eyes and ears on. Filled with music, dance, spinach dragons and questions about everything from fairies to Santa Claus, each film lasts from between 3 – 10 minutes and is a real treat for younger audiences. Tickets for the Film Short for Young Audiences are €2 per child and school can reserve directly through Roscommon Arts Centre’s box office at 090 6625824.
