The event is set for June 9.
Stars of Broadway’s Sunset Boulevard, English, and Maybe Happy Ending will join New York City’s acclaimed dancers for the 15th Anniversary Clive Barnes Awards. Tom Francis, Ava Lalezrzadeh, and Helen J Shen will receive the Clive Barnes Award for Honored Artist in Theatre, and David Gabriel, Isaiah K. Harvey, and Kanon Sugino will accept the Award for Honored Artist in Dance. The ceremony will also include special appearances by Tiler Peck and Victor Abreu of New York City Ballet.
Hosted by Budd Mishkin of 1010WINS and Before the Cheering Started podcast, the annual Clive Barnes Awards recognizes young outstanding talent in the fields of theater and dance. This year, the Inaugural Clive Barnes Award for Journalism & Media Achievement will be presented to Conversations On Dance podcast hosts and producers Rebecca King Ferraro and Michael Sean Breeden.
Honored Artists have been nominated by the Foundation’s 11-member Selection Committee comprised of arts journalists and accomplished professionals in each field. Nominees were selected based on live performances given in New York City between January and December of 2024.
New York City Ballet Principal dancer Tiler Peck will present the Award for Dance and arts journalist Patrick Pacheco will present the Award for Theatre. The ceremony will include a performance by New York City Ballet dancer and Clive Barnes Award alumnus Victor Abreu with Giulia Faria. A cocktail reception will immediately follow the ceremony, and the event will include a silent auction of unique performing arts items and experiences.
