Nottingham Playhouse Appoints Graeme Thompson as New Director of Producing
Thompson joins from Dance City in Newcastle, succeeding Amanda Bruce who moves to Jamie Wilson Productions.
Nottingham Playhouse has appointed Graeme Thompson as its new Director of Producing. Graeme has over 15 years' experience of working as a producer in theatre, specialising in the creation of new productions, programming and artist development. He is a strong advocate for regional theatre and deeply committed to widening access to the arts, particularly for underrepresented artists.
As Director of Producing, Graeme will lead on the delivery and future life of productions – from feasibility through to realisation – and will play a key role in shaping the producing strategy of the organisation. Graeme succeeds Amanda Bruce, who has moved to Jamie Wilson Productions as General Manager.
On his appointment, Graeme said:
Graeme will be moving to Nottingham Playhouse from his previous position as Senior Producer at Dance City in Newcastle. He spent nearly a decade as Creative Producer at Live Theatre and previously worked at Freedom Studios and Theatre 503. In March 2022, he was awarded the Olwen Wymark Theatre Encouragement Award by the Writers' Guild of Great Britain. Graeme will take up the role of Director of Producing in July.
