New musical, Normal Teenage Girl, to be given its first official Industry reading starring Ephie Aardema (Funny Girl / Waitress), Daniel Quadrino (Wicked / Tommy -Goodman Theatre), Leah Hocking (The Last Ship / Billy Elliot), Elena Shaddow (The Visit / La Cage Aux Folles), and Angela Travino (SUFFS - Public
Theater).

Music and lyrics are by recording artist Sharon Kenny (Hotel Heart from TV's "Dance Moms" ), with book by Broadway's Nick Corley and Ms. Kenny. Mr. Corley also directs. Based on actual events, Normal Teenage Girl tells the emotionally complex story of a runaway girl who attempts to reclaim the normal teenage life that was stolen from her. The reading is being presented on Friday Oct. 20th at 1 and 4 at MTC studios by Robin Skye and Goodwill Theatre Inc. The show was developed through several readings at NY's Institute for American Musical Theatre.

The 9 person cast also features Miriam Ali (Funny Girl), Mikako Martin (Miss Saigon - Casa Mañana), Melissa Lynne Jones (A Chorus Line -International tour), Cara Rose DiPietro (Catch Me if You Can - Arena Stage). Musical Direction is by Adam Laird (Beetlejuice) with stage directions read by Caden Brauch and Sydney Scott. The show is represented by Michael Moore Agency.

Writers Bio's:

Sharon Kenny writes songs and the words that go with them. She lives in New York. Kenny's solo projects include Songs About You; (Songs About Me), My Name Is Sharon, Adjectives & Nouns (EP), and Pianocentric. Her music has been prominently featured both nationally and internationally on television, most
notably with five placements on Lifetime's hit show, Dance Moms. Kenny's song "Hotel Heart" reached #68 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts; her music has cumulatively garnered nearly 20 million views on YouTube. Sharon's theatre work has been commissioned and/or developed at New York Theatre Workshop,Manhattan Theatre Club, 92NY, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Theatreworks Palo Alto, Yale Institute of Music Theatre, and Stages Theatre Company. She is an alum of ANTFest (Ars Nova), The Johnny Mercer Songwriter's Project (American Music Theatre Project), Prospect Theatre Company's Musical Theatre Lab, and Space on Ryder Farm. She has performed sold out shows at Joe's Pub, Le Poisson Rouge, and the Gramercy Theatre, and has been a finalist for the Fred Ebb, Jonathan Larson, and Richard Rodgers Awards. She was recently commissioned to adapt the NY Times best-selling book "What Do You Do With

Nick Corley (writer, director, actor) Co-wrote and directed the award winning Woody Sez - The Life and Music of Woody Guthrie which over the past 17 years has and continues to play all over the world. Other writing includes A Young Lady Of Fashion (co-author/director), Eliot Ness...In Cleveland (additional
material/director), The Life and Adventures of Davy Crockett (additional material/ director), A 90 min.high school adaptation of Mother Courage approved by the Brecht Estate, and the steaming productions of The Jerry Duncan Show, and Positive Exposure's Change How You See Celebration. As Director, his
NY productions include Flight (Callaway Directing Nom.), About Face (NYMF Best Director Nom.), Tim and Scrooge, Mother Russia (Carnegie Hall) and Associate Director on Burn This (Bway revival), Plaza Suite (pre-Bway revival), Is There Still Sex In The City (off-Bway), and God Bless You Mr. Rosewater
(Encores). Other directing credits include plays and musicals at major theaters across the country. Acting credits include 6 Bway shows (She Loves Me, Drood, You Can't Take It With You, Mary Poppins, On The Twentieth Century, and originating the role of Bob Cratchit in the musical version of A Christmas Carol at
