Concord Music Publishing has signed songwriting team Chris Miller and Nathan Tysen. The worldwide exclusive administration deal, effective immediately, includes Miller & Tysen's full catalog and all future works.

“I'm honored and thrilled to be joining some of my favorite writers and artists at Concord and can't wait to see what lies ahead,” said Chris Miller. “Concord has been a champion of our work for a long time, so it feels like coming home.”

"I am so grateful to Concord's support over the years commissioning, recording, and licensing our work,” said Nathan Tysen. “It is an absolute thrill to join the Concord Music Publishing family and be in the company of so many legendary songwriters."

“I'm very happy to continue our relationship with Chris and Nathan, whom I've known and worked with for many years,” said Sean Patrick Flahaven, Chief Theatricals Executive for Concord. “Their songs are beautiful, exciting, and often profound.”

Chris Miller (music) and Nathan Tysen (lyrics) are the songwriting team behind the Broadway musical Tuck Everlasting (Outer Critics Circle & Drama League nominations for Best Musical). Their off-Broadway work includes The Burnt Part Boys (Lucille Lortel Nomination for Best Musical) and Fugitive Songs(Drama Desk Nomination for Outstanding Revue). Their current projects include Blown Sideways Through Life (with Claudia Shear, based on her one-woman show), and Revival, based on Willa Cather's short story “Eric Hermannson's Soul” (commissioned by Playwrights Horizons & Theatreworks Silicon Valley). Television work includes songs for “Sesame Street” (2012 Daytime Emmy Award), “Elmo's World,” and “The Electric Company.”

Chris Miller is currently writing co-arrangements and co-orchestrations for the John Logan/Avett Brothers musical Swept Away; a song cycle for soprano and orchestra using the poetry of Willa Cather entitled April Twilights; and book, music, and lyrics for Ravello (commissioned by Signature Theatre's American Musical Voices Project). He is a contributing composer to Mark Campbell's song cycle Songs From an Unmade Bed, produced at the New York Theatre Workshop.

Nathan Tysen will be represented on Broadway this season with The Great Gatsby (music by Jason Howland, book by Kait Kerrigan). He was represented on the West End and on Broadway with Amélie (music and co-lyrics by Dan Messé), which garnered a Grammy nomination and three Olivier Award nominations; as well as on Broadway with Paradise Square, for which he received a Tony Award nomination in 2022. He recently wrote lyrics to the popular musical mystery web series “A Killer Party” (music by Jason Howland). Tysen is also librettist and co-composer of the rock/theatre piece Stillwater with his band, Joe's Pet Project. In 2016, he received the Kleban Award for most promising lyricist. He is also a director/writer for Lovewell Institute for the Creative Arts, making original musicals with young adults for over two decades.

Together, Miller & Tysen are proud recipients of awards and grants from Fred Ebb, Jonathan Larson, Richard Rodgers, Samuel French, Daryl Roth, Kitty Carlisle Hart, ASCAP, and the NEA. They began their collaboration at NYU where they received their MFAs in musical theatre writing. They are proud members of ASCAP and The Dramatists Guild.

Concord Theatricals licenses Tuck Everlasting, Fugitive Songs, and Amélie for live stage performance, and commissioned and licenses Dreamland (or a musical riff on Shakespeare's Midsummer set during the declassification of Area 51). Concord Theatricals Recordings released the Grammy-nominated original London cast recording of Amélie and the studio cast recording of Dreamland.
