Jakarta Performing Arts Community (JPAC), a non-profit community theatre in Jakarta, has performed their musical production WEST SIDE STORY in April 2017. With this production, they wish to spread the message of hope and peace, something that is mostly forgotten nowadays.

One of the commitment in making WEST SIDE STORY is to share some of the profit to their selected community theatre: Theatre for Life. Through Theatre for Life, JPAC wished to make performing arts accessible in many different background.

Theatre for Life is one of the edu-theater program from English Art Lab that founded on late March 2016, as one of the Community Program from Fakultas Ilmu Budaya - Universitas Indonesia. By enhancing characters and creativity of their members, they can learn how to develop themselves through theatre education. Until today, their program has reached 32 students from Junior High School Depok, aged 12 to 18. Theatre for Life's members are mostly come from difficult background or children from lower class family.

Ms. Herlin Putri Indah Destari, MA (founder of Theatre for Life and English Art Lab) is attend to receive Rp. 25.000.000 from Mr. Rio Rahmansyah (JPAC president), on behalf of JPAC cast and crew from WEST SIDE STORY.
