By:

Auditions for the play President Lincoln attended the night of his assassination will take place in June.

Lincoln Amphitheatre is seeking to cast ten men and seven women for the 19th century, three-act farcical comedy of "Our American Cousin."

Lincoln Amphitheatre will be hosting auditions for "Our American Cousin" on Wednesday, June 15 and Thursday, June 16 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. CDT at Lincoln Amphitheatre.

Interested parties must be 18 years or older to audition, and do not need to prepare a dialogue or song. The auditioning process will consist of readings from the "Our American Cousin" script. Interested parties are recommended to wear comfortable shoes during the audition process. If interested in reading the script a head of time, visit www.gutenberg.org for a free download of the play script.

Interested parties will need to bring a list of conflicts that will occur during the months of July 4 - August 27.

"Our American Cousin" is a three-act, farcical comedy written by Englishman Tom Taylor in 1850 and originally produced by Laura Keene in 1958. It is about an American Asa Trenchard visiting England to claim his inheritance from a distant relative.
