The Buck Creek Players will continue their 38th season with the upbeat off-beat comedy, Harold and Maude, by Colin Higgins. The show will open on Friday, March 23, and run on weekends through to Sunday, April 1.

Self-destructive, needy, but wealthy teenager Harold Chasen (Evan Reed) is obsessed with death and spends his leisure time attending funerals, watching the demolition of buildings, simulating suicides trying to get the attention of his indifferent, snobbish and egocentric mother (Miki Mathioudakis), and having sessions with his psychologist (Michael Maloney). When Harold meets the anarchic seventy-nine-year-old Maude (Serita Borgeas) at a funeral, they become friends and the old lady exposes him to the wonders and possibilities of life. What she teaches saves him.

Rounding out the cast are Christopher Brown (Mover), Jonathan Evans (Boss), Lyndsay K. Gilman (Nancy Mersch), Adam Grandy (Sergeant Doppel), Cassandra Grove (Sylvie Gazel), Dennis Karr (Gardener), Tempiellen Knuteson (Sunshine Dore), Vickie Reel (Marie), Jason A. Roll (Inspector Bernard), Katherine Sparks (Mover), and Cito Wyatt (Father Finnegan).

Cheryl Fesmire makes her directorial debut for The Playhouse with Harold and Maude. Joining Fesmire on the production team are Judith Duncan (Producer), Lea Viney (Set Designer/Technical Director), Donald Stikeleather (Lighting Designer), Sue Kuehnhold (Costumer), David Sterne and Rick DeVito (Sound Designers), Jonathan Evans (Stage Manager), Michael Sean Nichols (Hair & Wig Design), and Melissa DeVito (Props and Special Effects).

Curtain times will be at 8:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, with 2:30 p.m. matinees offered on Sundays. All performances will be held at the Buck Creek Playhouse on Indianapolis' southeast side at 11150 Southeastern Avenue.
