5 COMEDIES IN 1: Christopher Durang ONE ACTS runs APRIL 3-19, 2009 at the Allen County Public Library Auditorium

Directed by Larry Wardlaw
In collaboration with the Allen County Public Library

Christopher Durang is a multiple Village Voice Obie Award winning playwright. This performance features a selection of Durang's outrageous one act plays.

Mrs. Sorken: Mrs. Sorken welcomes the audience and explains her hysterical likes and dislikes about theatre and her views on the meaning of life.

The Actor's Nightmare: an actor discovers himself on stage having never been to a rehearsal. He's pushed onstage dressed as Hamlet and finds himself in Noel Coward's Private Lives.

Business Lunch at the Russian Tea Room: Chris, a Playwright, has a meeting with a new Hollywood hotshot who pitches insane ideas for a screenplay.

Wanda's Visit: Jim and Marsha have been married for thirteen years and are feeling a little bored and unhappy. Jim's old girlfriend shows up for a visit and becomes the guest from hell.

For Whom The Southern Bell Tolls: is a parody of Tennessee's The Glass Menagerie. The fading Southern belle, Amanda, tries to prepare her hypersensitive, hypochondriac son, Lawrence, for "the feminine caller." Terrified of people, Lawrence plays with his collection of glass cocktail stirrers.

Rated R.
