Kacher Manush is a story told simply and differently, yet effectively. There is merit in its straightforwardness. The message that no person can be kept separated from another indefinitely on the basis of caste and creed is conveyed in a credible manner in the play. It depicts how a man stands by his fellow human being. Dadasaheb Purohit is an old widower - honest, idealistic, outspoken, yet conventional in his hatred for Dalits. His children believe in the same though they are busy achieving success in their own lives. Dadasaheb protests against the violence Dalits create in reaction to the dishonor shown to Babasaheb Ambedkar’s statue. He is molested and attacked physically that leaves him partially paralysed. His daughter can find time only for telephone calls. His son leaves in a hurry after quickly appointing a physiotherapist Dalit whom Dadasaheb just cannot accept. The difference erupts violently every now and then. But as he gets better, gradually he learns to depend on his only companion. Self-possessed and true to his duties, the doctor extends all assistance to the treatment of her patient. He is not only cured fully nut relieved of all his prejudices. He is now a human soul who has learnt human relationship abhors all boundaries.
