The concept of arranged marriages as practiced in the sub-continent has always been a subject of intrigue for the Western world.

However, as the societies are progressing and there is a greater interaction between the sexes, the concept is losing its popularity even in India. Even though, it is far from a diminishing trend, most urban marriages today are love matches. However a new short film sheds a new light on this concept. Unarranged is a light-hearted short film that talks about the fears concerning arranges matches amongst the youth today. the film has gone viral and has already bagged more than 2 million views on YouTube in a short span of two months.

The movie traces the journey of young abut to get married couple from the small town of Kanpur in India. In a balanced portrayal of relationships and emotions the film throws into light some positive aspects of arranged marriages. The film with its fun banter also attempts to allay the fears that the youngsters today are experiencing with this traditional concept.

The film has managed to strike a common chord with most youth in the country today as the idea of an arranged match continues to loom large in the Indian context.

Both the lead actors Tanya Singh and Shahabat Ali do full justice to their roles add that much required sensitivity to the movie.
