Foxfinder by Dawn King. US PREMIERE
August 15-31, 2013 at Studio 101 (1824 Spring Street, Houston TX 77007)
Finalist for the Susan Smith Blackburn award.

William Bloor, a 'foxfinder', arrives at Sam and Judith Covey's farm to investigate a suspected contamination. He is driven by his education and beliefs to unearth and destroy an animal that threatens man's civilization, and to remain free from its influence himself. As his investigations proceed, the events that follow change the course of all their lives - forever. Dawn King's play won the 2011 Papatango New Writing Competition (in partnership with London's Finborough Theatre). A darkly comic exploration of belief, desire and responsibility, set in a world both strange and familiar, from a striking new voice in British theatre. It first premiered at the Finborough Theatre in November 2011.

Carnival Round the Central Figure by Diana Amsterdam. REGIONAL PREMIERE
November 7-23, 2013 at Studio 101, 1824 Spring Street

A wild ride through theatrical terrain that sears the senses and impacts the audience at a visceral place, which also manages to be hilariously funny and heartbreakingly real in the five core scenes of a young woman's visit to the death bed of her friend. Her moment of acknowledgment and comfort comes hard in the face of denial, moralizing, insane positive thinking, desperate chit chat, and the existential fears we all harbor about the end moments of life-the great mystery.

Museum of Dysfunction IV
December 6-14, 2013 at Studio 101, 1824 Spring Street

Short plays from 200 writers who submitted from all over the US, and were chosen by a panel. Co-produced by Wordsmyth Theatre.

Rome by John Harvey- WORLD PREMIER
March 6-22, 2014 at Studio 101, 1824 Spring Street

This original script is being written by local playwright, John Harvey, workshopped by designers, musicians and actors, video documented over a year and presented as a collaborative effort as our final play in the season.
