Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) is proud to continue its annual summer tradition of offering free musical theatre with the groundbreaking classic A Chorus Line, running July 16 - 21 at 8:15 p.m. each night at Miller Outdoor Theatre. The landmark musical boasts nine Tony Awards, including the award for Best Musical, as well as a Pulitzer Prize for drama.
A Chorus Line forever changed the way we look at Broadway. In an empty theatre, on a bare stage, a group of dancers auditioning for a musical lay their talent and their life experiences on the line. This audition is the chance of a lifetime - it's what they've worked for with every drop of sweat, every hour of training, and every day of their lives. Marvin Hamlisch's superb score ("What I Did For Love," "One") coupled with the story for anyone who's ever boldly chased their dreams makes this musical one to savor again and again. No tickets? No problem! Bring a cozy blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the show from the Miller Theatre lawn, the perfect place for a picnic and a show!
Theatre Under The Stars' presentation of A Chorus Line is sponsored in part by The Brown Foundation, Inc., The George and Mary Josephine Hamman Foundation, The Wortham Foundation, Inc., Wells Fargo and by the City of Houston through theMiller Theatre Advisory Board and the Texas Commission on the Arts.
