Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) and the Houston Texans have announced a performance of the national anthem by the TUTS Star Students Performance Troupe at the Houston Texans game on October 1st against the Tennessee Titans!

"We are so grateful for the opportunity to share our commitment to breaking down barriers to access and inclusivity with the esteemed Houston Texans. Performing the national anthem at the upcoming Kids' Day game is a dream come true for all of our students and teachers. We could not be more proud of them, and are thrilled to have the opportunity to share their talents with our Houston community (and beyond)!" said Hillary Hart, Executive Director of Theatre Under The Stars.

The TUTS Star Students Performance Troupe is made up of a diverse selection of talented students from TUTS' Humphreys School of Musical Theatre (HSMT) and The River Performing and Visual Arts Center (The River). As part of TUTS commitment to inclusivity in the arts, opportunities like this one with the Texans, in concert with the Inclusive Arts Showcase on March 21, 2018, which showcases performing and visual art created by the students, along with additional events throughout the season, provide the perfect illustration of TUTS' vision for the future; continuing to foster the next generation of engaged community members, community leaders, theatre fans, and artists. To support TUTS' Education programs, please consider attending the 21 River & HSMT Celebration on October 26, 2017. The River is generously sponsored by AIG, Shell Oil Company, Phillips 66, Boardwalk Pipeline Partners, InterLinc Mortgage Services, The Brown Foundation, George and Mary Josephine Hamman Foundation, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, KNOWAutism Foundation, The Medallion Foundation, Mostyn Moreno Foundation, Spindletop Charities, Inc., and Texas Commission on the Arts.

Theatre Under The Stars has provided the best in musical theatre to Houston for nearly 50 years. As we look toward the next 50 years, TUTS will continue to give Houston the best of this art form through performances on the Main Stage at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, and through the work of the Teaching Artists at HSMT, The River, and in our Community Engagement programs.

THEATRE UNDER THE STARS ("TUTS") - (Dan Knechtges, Artistic Director; Hillary J Hart, Executive Director) - was founded by Frank M. Young in 1968 and is Houston's leading musical theatre company for performance, arts education and professional theatrical training; ranging from the classics to new work development. As a 501c3 performing arts organization, TUTS is dedicated to breaking down barriers to access by focusing on inclusivity, education, and community engagement through a commitment to artistic excellence, programs in the community, technique-based curriculum at the Humphreys School of Musical Theatre, and explorative, creative life-skills at The River Performing and Visual Arts Center.
