The Landing Theatre Company Presents WITHIN THESE WALLS
WITHIN THESE WALLS is a collection of new works commissioned by The Landing Theatre Company for a site-specific micro theatre project set in a specific house in the Heights. These performances are presented for audiences of only 18 people at a time in a working AirBnB. WITHIN THESE WALLS is an intimate, up-close, immersive theatre experience where the audience sits in the house that the stories happen in, and watches the drama unfold around them. There will be performances 7 days a week (except for Halloween night) in rotation throughout the run.
Performances October 11-November 4, 2018
BETWEEN TWO CAVES By Brendan Bourque-Sheil
Directed by Benito Vasquez
A comedy about modern conspiracy theory culture. Alex is the content creator and host of a successful self-produced podcast, and she is currently adjusting from being a poor nobody to being someone with a little bit of money, celebrity, and influence. Parker, a friend of Alex, would like to be some kind of high profile celebrity investigative journalist, maybe the next Julian Assange, but as of right now, he's living with his mom. At this very moment of podcast uncertainty Parker visits with a story the he feels will sent him and her show into the national spotlight. His controversial proposal puts Alex in the uncomfortable dilemma between satisfying her need for edgy content or pulling back to save her slipping audience base.
THE VISIT By Esme Wu
Directed by Sophia Watt
An intense drama about family treasures. It's been six months since Sharona died. Her husband Scott is at home waiting for the visit of Suze, Ro's sister, who is coming to collect some of her sister's belongings. The two have personalities and points of view at polar opposites, and are prone to clashing on ideas. When a valuable necklace passed down from their grandmother is missing from the belonging, things fuel, and through the conflict the importance of the true jewels of the family are uncovered.
