The Texas Renaissance Festival, the nation's largest and most acclaimed Renaissance-themed event, has named Joseph Bailey as its new Chief Executive Officer and General Manager. Mr. Bailey joined the festival on Monday, February 4th, 2019, after serving as Senior Manager of Service Transition Planning and Support for Motorola Solutions in Schaumburg, Illinois.

"I am delighted to welcome Joseph as our new CEO," said George Coulam, owner and founder of the Texas Renaissance Festival. "Joseph has demonstrated consistent success leading large teams globally to deliver solutions and grow revenue for his stakeholders. I believe he is just the person to lead the Texas Renaissance Festival at this point in our history"

A native Houstonian, Mr. Bailey graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. After a few years working as an engineer in various positions in the telecommunications industry, Joseph transitioned into business leadership and change management. For the last 15 years, he has led major corporate programs and promotions in enhancing the customer experience, site maintenance and improvement, and business efficiency.

"I am very excited to be joining the Texas Renaissance Festival in time to celebrate its 45th anniversary year," said Bailey. "Having been a patron of the Festival for over 25 years, I know that TRF is a Texas institution and has grown to become a regional, national, and international attraction. I look forward to helping guide the festival into the next 45 years of magic, merriment, and fun."

The Texas Renaissance Festival will celebrate its 45th season in the fall of 2019, with nine themed weekends beginning Saturday, October 5th and running through Sunday, December 1st. In 2018, the Festival welcomed over 640,000 guests and anticipates an even larger attendance this year as people from Houston and around the region join in the festivities to celebrate its sapphire anniversary.

The Texas Renaissance Festival is the nation's largest and most acclaimed Renaissance themed event. Established in 1974, the event attracts over half a million visitors each year to its 55-acre New Market Village and Fields of New Market Campgrounds in Todd Mission, Texas. This immersive experience features world renowned live entertainment, works by master artists and craftspeople, award winning food and drink, hand-powered rides and games, and over 100 interactive characters during its nine themed weekends from October 5 through December 1, 2019.
