Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) announced today that, due to inclement weather, school cancellations, and the desire to keep all students and patrons safe, it has officially cancel tonight's Tommy Tune Awards ceremony. As of now, there is no intent to reschedule the event due to school and facility conflicts.

"Canceling the awards show was a difficult decision, but one we felt compelled to make for the safety of the students, teachers, volunteers and staff," said Amy Pierce, TUTS Chairman of the Board. "The Tommy Tune Awards ceremony is something we look forward to every year."

The winners of the Tommy Tune Awards as well as the scholarship recipients will be announced at 8 p.m. tonight on the Tommy Tune Awards Facebook page.

Refunds for the participating schools, VIP ticket holders and those who purchased individual tickets are being processed through the TUTS Box Office. All ticket refund questions may be answered by contacting the Box Office by phone at (713) 558-TUTS (8887) or via email at BoxOffice@tuts.com.

The Tommy Tune Awards recognize and reward excellence in the production of musical theatre by high school students and their teachers.

The nominations for 2016's Tommy Tune Awards were announced in March and 164 participants in 15 award categories. The list of nominees is available on TUTS.com/TommyTuneAwards.
