TEATRX Presents A Short Play And Short Film Festival

La Vida Es Cortos/Life is Shorts Festival is a unique festival that presents short plays and short films to celebrate and showcase the Latinx community, its artists, and its stories.

TEATRX Artistic Director Benito Vasquez says "Short films and short plays are seldom seen by the general public but even more rare is seeing Latinx artists in Houston's prominent theatre and film scene."

TEATRX is bringing Houston Latinx groups together like never before. The plays presented are directed by local theatre groups comprised of Latinx artists. Films were submitted and chosen from a diverse group of local, national, and international Latinx filmmakers. When describing the variety of Latinx stories in the festival, Vasquez says, "In just one evening, audiences will experience universal stories of laughter and heartache through the words and bodies of Latinx artists as we try to navigate through the daily struggles we call life."

The short film and short play festival will be held at MATCH in Matchbox 1 on Friday November 9th and Saturday November 10th, 2018 at 8 PM with a preview on Thursday November, 8th at 7:30 PM that is intended to accommodate parents with children (content is rated PG-13). La Vida Es Cortos/Life Is Shorts Festival is funded in part by grants from the City of Houston through the Houston Arts Alliance.
