Masquerade Theatre presents Sunday in the Park with George
Zilkha Hall
Feb 18 - Feb 27, 2011

Stephen Sondheim's Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece Sunday In The Park With George is the third musical of The Masquerade Theatre's 2010-2011 season. Inspired by the painting "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte" by Georges Seurat, the show explores the balance between art and life, and the true nature of both. Sondheim and book writer James Lapine fictionalize Seurat's story and imagine his life and state of mind as he creates his masterpiece. In Act Two, Seurat's grandson deals with his own struggles as an artist, and turns to his deceased grandfather for inspiration. Sunday In The Park With George is a must-see for all who love the theatre.
