Indo-American Asssociation (IAA) presents Romeo & Juliet in Kathak: for the first time in the world! The show will take place Friday July 22, 2016, 8:00 pm.
The immortal Shakespearean love saga Romeo & Juliet has stirred millions of hearts all over the world and has been performed in theater and dance forms by some of the greatest artistes. However, it has never been attempted in a classical Indian dance form. Legendary Kathak dancer Pandit Birju Maharaj and Guru Saswati Sen present the story with 75 dancers as a stunning ninety minute ballet with all the original characters and ambience of Verona. The music is a soothing cross-cultural fusion of Indian Classical, Western Classical, and contemporary Jazz.
