The Texas Repertory Theatre Co., Houston's Uptown Classic Theatre, continues its 10th Anniversary "Greatest Hits" Season with a new staging of William Nicholson's inspiring drama Shadowlands, the true life story of author C.S. Lewis, playing four performances a week through April 12th.

The life of famous British author and scholar, C. S. Lewis is the basis for William Nicholson's inspiring play of love, family, & faith. The renowned author of The Chronicles of Narnia, The Screwtape Letters, Mere Christianity, and The Great Divorce, Lewis was an intellectual giant, and generally accepted as one of the greatest writers of the 20th century. As his carefully guarded academic world is challenged by his friendship with the outspoken American poet, Joy Gresham, Lewis - a committed bachelor, Christian, and Oxford professor finds himself relearning the true meaning of life. In Shadowlands, their unlikely romance raises elemental questions about God and love, life and death, happiness and the meaning of family.

The Texas Repertory Theatre revival of Shadowlands features Texas Repertory Artistic Director Steven Fenley reprising his role as CS Lewis, and a cast of Texas Repertory company members, including Tom Long, Lisa-Thomas Morrison, and Ted Doolittle all under the direction of award-winning director Rachel Mattox.
