Second New Greater Lesser Mt Zion Bethel Church needs an amazing Christmas pageant to save the church. Can they pull it off? Find out in Obsidian Theater original GO YELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN.

The Second New Greater Lesser Mt Zion Bethel Church has been around for 75 years but now a nearby mega church wants to knock it down to build the Heavenly Palace Bowling Lanes. To save their church, the flock of SNGLMZBC decides to draw attention and rally the city to save their church by staging a big, showy, heart-warming Christmas pageant. So they ask an outside theatre director to help. Traditions and characters clash, but great music and the story pull everyone together.

Obsidian Theater is proud to present the fun, farcical Christmas musical comedy, conceptualized by Tom Stell, its creative and artistic director. Rozie Curtis directs. Curtis has over 25 years of diverse theatre experience as an actor, director, choreographer and writer. Much of her recent directing work has been done with Theatre Under the Stars and Disney. The director also created and directed the drama ministry for the Fountain of Praise Church in Houston for 15 years.

GO YELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN Musical Director John Cornelius II is an associate professor of music at Prairie View A&M University. John has been commissioned to write works for churches all over Houston as well as the Houston Grand Opera. John has co-wrote a number of musicals including Bob Marley's THREE LITTLE BIRDS, which was nominated for a Charles MacArthur Award for Outstanding New Play and the Helen Hayes Awards 2014.

GO YELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN opens December 1 and continues through December 23 at Obsidian Theater, 3522 White Oak Drive. Evening performances begin at 8 p.m. and matinees begin at 3 p.m. For more information, visit obsidiantheater.org.
