Houston's Main Street Theatre presents THE LAST NIGHT OF BALLYHOO and THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER. BALLYHOO will run from November 12th through December 13th at the Main Street Theatre - Rice Village, while THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER will be performed on select dates in late November/early December at the Main Street Theatre - Chelsea Market.

BALLYHOO is set in December of 1939.  The world is facing great challenges, but the Frietag household in Atlanta is consumed with more immediate matters, such as the world premiere of Gone with the Wind and whether or not Lala will secure a date for Ballyhoo, the Jewish social event of the season. The author of Driving Miss Daisy turns a sharply amused eye on matters of assimilation and prejudice, identity and romance, in this rich portrait of a family struggling to know its place.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER centers around the Herdman kids - the most horrible children imaginable. They are disrespectful, they cuss, they lie, they smoke cigars - they are every decent person's worst nightmare! So when they show up at church one Sunday and decide to participate in the annual Christmas pageant, everyone is worried, to say the least. But miracles come in all shapes and sizes... Join the fun with this delightfully funny holiday story about the true meaning of Christmas.  This show is recommended for kindergarden and older.

Ticket prices vary and a number of discounts are available.  Call (713) 524 - 6706 or visit mainstreettheatre.com for more information.
