By: Jan. 05, 2016

Main Street Theater (MST) continues its partnership with Prague Shakespeare Company (PSC) in presenting PSC's Venus in Fur by David Ives, directed by Guy Roberts, Artistic Director of Prague Shakespeare Company and native Houstonian. The production marks PSC's most popular show to date: Venus has played to sold out houses as part of their repertoire in Prague for over 18 months as well as enjoying a sold out tour in Budapest, Hungary. Now MST is bringing the show to Houston for a limited run.

Venus in Fur opens January 4 - 24 only: Thursdays - Saturdays at 7:30pm; Sundays at 3:00pm. Venus will play at Main Street Theater - Rice Village, 2540 Times Blvd. Tickets are $39 - $20, depending on date and section, and are on sale via phone at 713.524.6706 or online at MainStreetTheater.com. Student tickets are available for $10.

The production is approximately 95 minutes (no intermission). There is no late seating and no readmittance if patrons leave during the performance.

About Venus in Fur

Vanda, a wildly talented young actress, is determined to land the lead in Thomas' new play based on the classic erotic novel, Venus in Furs. Vanda's emotionally charged audition for the demanding playwright/director becomes an electrifying game of cat and mouse that blurs the lines between fantasy and reality, submission and domination - and enters into an increasingly serious game of seduction and power which only one of them can win.

Featuring Jessica Boone and Guy Roberts. For mature audiences only.
