LORD OF THE FLIES, William Golding's classic novel, comes to the stage this September courtesy of Bayou City Theatrics. An all female cast gives a whole new perspective on the savagery of man, proving that animal instinct lives in the hearts of us all. Using beautiful imagery and an original score, this production brings the stunning detail of the novel to life.

When a plane, transporting refugees from a world ravaged by war, crashes on a remote island, only a group of school children survive. They are left to their own devices and the battle between reason and instinct begins without the adult-driven rules of common society. Slowly they split into two factions, each fighting for control of the island; a rivalry that descends into madness.

LORD OF THE FLIES is the inaugural production of Bayou City Theatrics' "Page to Stage" series, a celebration of classic literary works that have been adapted for the stage. Directed by Jake Frank and designed by Colton Berry; LORD OF THE FLIES bombards the senses with gorgeous movement and gruesome acts as an island paradise becomes a living hell.

LORD OF THE FLIES features a strong ensemble of actresses including Erica Bundy, Ashley Frye, Storey Hinojosa, Megan Nix, Gia Ochsenbein, Tori Shoemaker, Vicki Wood, and Whitney Zangarine.

LORD OF THE FLIES runs September 18-20 and 25-27 at 8:00 p.m., with additional 5:00 p.m. matinees on the September 21 and 28. Tickets are available for purchase at www.BayouCityTheatrics.com or at the door, though BCT suggests advanced purchases, to secure admission to their intimate venue.
