Join Obsidian Theater at The Kit Kat Club this Spring During CABARET: DAS MUSICAL

Winner of four Tony Awards, three Drama Desk Awards and three Outer Circle Critic Awards, the 1998 revival of Cabaret is the first musical of the Obsidian Theater's 2018 season. Come forget all of your troubles at the Kit Kat Club, April 12 - May 5, 2018.

Join us in 1920's Berlin at the Kit Kat Club where you will forget all your troubles. With the Emcee's bawdy songs as wry commentary, CABARET explores the dark, heady, and tumultuous life of Berlin's natives and expatriates as Germany slowly yields to the emerging Third Reich. Memorable numbers from this dark musical include; "Willkommen," "Cabaret," "Don't Tell Mama" and "Two Ladies."

Director, Paul Hope is excited to be directing the most recent version of Cabaret. "I am particularly excited to be directing Cabaret as it is such a seminal work in the history of the musical. An early "concept" musical, it explored non linear storytelling and dealt with the darkest subject matter known to musicals until that time. Subsequent versions have continued to refine the show, removing gratuitous musical comedy sequences designed to keep an audience comfortable in 1966. It is exciting to present the first local production of the most recent version that premiered at The Donmar Warehouse in London in the 90's and later at Studio 54 in New York."

The talented cast brining 1920's Berlin to life are; Nathan Wilson (Emcee), Whitney Zangarine (Sally Bowles), Cole Ryden (Clifford Bradshaw), Seth Cunningham (Ernst Ludwig), Stephanie Rascoe Myers (Fraulein Schneider), Steve Garfinkle (Herr Schultz), Jenny Lamb (Fraulein Kost), Lexie Jackson (Kit Kat Girl), Mackenzie Mellen (Kit Kat Girl), Amanda Marie Parker (Kit Kat Girl), Elizabeth Tinder (Kit Kat Girl), Brian Chambers (Max), Andrew Russell (Victor), Jayden Key (Bobby) and Taelon Stonecipher (Rudy).

Cabaret will be directed by Paul Hope and stage managed by Nicholas Garelick. The rest of the production team includes; Krissy Richmond (Choreographer), Heather Tipsword (Musical Director), Chloe Westfall (Set Designer), Pat Padilla (Costume Designer) and Tom Stell (Executive Producer.)

Performances of Cabaret are April 12 - May 5, 2018, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 pm. Industry Night will be on Monday, April 30 at 8 pmwith discounted tickets available for those who work in the industry. A special matinee performance will be held on Sunday, April 22 at 3 pm. The box office opens an hour before curtain with seating beginning 30 minutes before show time.
