Houston Symphony Offers Onstage Seating for Sold-Out Yo-Yo Ma Concert

By:
The Houston Symphony announced today the addition of onstage seating for the sold-out, one-night-only concert featuring superstar cellist Yo-Yo Ma at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017.

Led by Music Director Andrés Orozco-Estrada, the program includes Dvorák's Cello Concerto, a masterpiece written during the time the composer spent in America, and Gershwin's jazz-influenced An American in Paris.

Yo-Yo Ma is known worldwide as a soloist and chamber music aficionado, as well as a dedicated philanthropist. He devotes much of his time to Silkroad, a nonprofit organization that seeks to create meaningful change in arts, education and business, which he founded in 1998. He has recorded more than 100 albums and remains one of the best-selling recording artists of the classical genre.

A limited number of tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis and can only be purchased by phone. Onstage tickets also include complimentary VIP valet parking. For more information about onstage seating or to purchase tickets, please call the Houston Symphony Patron Services Center at 713 224-7575 from (Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.). There will be no intermission during this performance.

All programs and artists are subject to change.

The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017 in Jones Hall for the Performing Arts, 615 Louisiana Street. Because traffic will be slow in the area due to Super Bowl-related events, patrons are encouraged to arrive early, leaving extra time for navigating and parking downtown.
