Hilary Cole Brings Judy Garland Tribute OVER THE RAINBOW to Jones Hall Tonight

By:

Encounter the timeless wonder of the music made famous by an American treasure when Vocalist Hilary Kole makes her Houston debut performing her "Over the Rainbow" program for two performances, tonight, March 27, 2015, at 7 and 9:30 p.m., in Jones Hall, presented by Society for the Performing Arts.

In a cabaret-style setting on the Jones Hall stage, Hilary Kole will conjure the spirit and beauty of the legendary songstress Judy Garland. With stunning Big Band arrangements, Kole sings such beloved works as "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," "The Trolley Song," "As Long As He Needs Me" and "Look for the Silver Lining," as well as other great songs made famous by the singer who Fred Astaire called "the greatest entertainer that ever lived."

Hilary Kole has continued to engage audiences throughout the world . . . since beginning her professional career at the legendary Rainbow Room as the youngest singer ever to grace that stage. She has appeared to sold-out audiences at the famed Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel; at Lincoln Center as part of the "American Songbook Series" with Jonathan Schwartz; and at Carnegie Hall for the tribute to Oscar Peterson alongside Quincy Jones, Herbie Hancock and Nancy Wilson. She has had the privilege of being the last singer to record with jazz legend Oscar Peterson, and the first since Ella Fitzgerald.

Additional international appearances have included repeat performances at Blue Note Tokyo, the Montreal Jazz Festival, The Umbria Jazz Festival, as well as appearing with orchestras throughout America, including the New York Pops, Colorado Symphony, the Florida Orchestra and others. In addition to her recordings with Oscar Peterson, Hilary Kole has recorded with music legends Dave Brubeck, Hank Jones, Michel LeGrand, Mulgrew Miller, David Frishberg, Monty Alexander, Benny Green, Freddy Cole, John Pizzarelli and Mike Renzi, among others.

General Admission Tickets are $63 and VIP tickets are $100. All tickets can be purchased online at SPAHouston.org, by phone at 713-227-4772 or at the courtyard level ticket office at Jones Hall located at 615 Louisiana St. Hours of operation: 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.
