Gravity Players Theatre Group presents The Last Days of Judas Iscariot (in an Equity MPC Showcase) by Stephen Adly Guirgis, running August 11 through September 3, 2017.

From the artists who brought you Guirgis' hysterical, riveting The Motherf@*ker with the Hat, known as 2016's "Most Daring Play of the Year."

What has become of Jesus' most notorious follower? In this dark comedy, time and space bend in a provocatively poignant quest to decide Judas' fate. Set in a courtroom in Purgatory, an uproarious cast of characters from Heaven and Hell swarm the stage to determine whether he has any grounds for redemption. This compassionate second look at Christian ideology offers urban street poetry, side splitting laughs, and ambitious debate.

"I do know that I am in continuous need of the spiritual and I that I usually go to great lengths to avoid it. I think I am not alone in that. And I think a connection to the spiritual is essential to us as individuals and to the world as a whole........Thomas Merton said, "To be a saint means to be myself." What if that were true? What is it we need to overcome in order to truly be "Ourselves?" I won't pretend at all that this play answers that question, but if it provokes the questions in you, then please let it. Ponder it. Because we need you." - Stephen Adly Guirgis

Featuring: Candice D'Meza, Patricia Duran*, Nick Farco*, Luis Galindo*, Philip Hays, Roc Living, Courtney Lomelo, Paul Menzel*, Jeff Miller, and Josh Morrison. Directed by James Belcher*. *Equity Member
