Company OnStage presents, THE VELVETEEN RABBIT, based on the book by Margery Williams, adapted for the stage by Thomas Olson, directed by MaryAnna Nagorski, and produced by special arrangement with Plays for Young Audiences.

In Margery Williams's touching story, a young boy forms a special bond with the stuffed rabbit he receives as a Christmas gift. When the boy becomes sick, the rabbit gives him love and makes the boy well. In return for his good deed, a fairy grants the Velveteen Rabbit life. The play introduces this poignant tale to a new generation of fans and reminds older generations why it still tugs at their heartstrings after all these years.

The Company OnStage Theater was founded in 1977 by Joyce Randall McNally, a former associate director of the Alley Theater, along with her husband Hank McNally. COS was recently displaced from its home of 33 years at the now defunct Westbury Square shopping center, and is currently performing in its original location in McPhail Hall at St. John's Presbyterian Church.

THE VELVETEEN RABBIT is appropriate for all ages. Performances are 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Saturdays from December 3 through December 17 at McPhail Hall, St. John's Presbyterian Church, 5020 West Bellfort. For more information, call 713-726-1219 or visit companyonstage.org. $10.
