College of the Mainland Community Theatre to Present ARSENIC AND OLD LACE, 11/6-23

The setting is two spinsters' bright, cozy, 1940s living room but the "lonely" bachelors lured with promises of a homemade meal little suspect arsenic in the wine.

Enjoy twists and turns during College of the Mainland Community Theatre's hilarious, spellbinding production of the classic "Arsenic and Old Lace" running Nov. 6-23.

In the classic dark comedy two elderly aunts, who don't have a mean bone in their bodies, poison those without families as an act of kindness. Meanwhile their nephews - one a psychopath on the run from the law and the other who entertains delusions of being Teddy Roosevelt - cause further chaos.

A third (and by comparison normal) nephew Mortimer will entertain with his attempts to bring order to madness.

The classic comedy-thriller entrances audiences with plot twists as Mortimer tries to keep his family under control - and himself sane.

"It's been produced all over the world for 75 years," said director Mark Adams. "It's classic for a reason."

The play runs Thursday to Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Tickets range from $11 to $23, and discounts for those over 60 are available.
