Based on the 1998 hit film starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, THE WEDDING SINGER brings of all the hilarity of the iconic film to the stage, with all-new songs that will make you wanna jam out with your Walkman to your favorite hair-band cassettes!

Saluting '80s pop culture, THE WEDDING SINGER transports you to the New Jersey shore to find true love in a sea of fishnets, neon lights, big hair, and rad dance numbers. Grab your parachute pants and tease your hair to the sky; it's time to party like it's 1985!

The Broadway musical, with music by Matthew Sklar and book by Chad Beguelin and Tim Herlihy (former head-writer for Saturday Night Live and author of the original screenplay), garnered five Tony Award nominations (including Best Musical and Best Musical Score) and eight Drama Desk Awards (including Outstanding Musical, Music, and Lyrics).

THE WEDDING SINGER runs February 5 through 21 at The Kaleidoscope.

Wannabe rock star Robbie Hart (Colton Berry) makes his living as Ridgefield, New Jersey's favorite wedding singer until he is left at the altar by his groupie-turned-girlfriend, Linda (Courtney Locke). Broken-hearted and inconsolable, Robbie hilariously takes his bitterness out on unsuspecting wedding guests, much to the dismay of his "Simply Wed" bandmates, George (Jordi Viscarri) and Sammy (Tyler Galindo). Enter Julia Sullivan (Anna Drake), a waitress at the local reception hall, whose down-to-earth charm quickly wins over Robbie and changes his mind about being a "Casualty of Love." Quickly falling for her, the only thing standing in Robbie's way to his happily-ever-after with Julia is her fiancée, Glen (Luke Hamilton), a successful Wall Street broker, who is handsome but less than charming. Robbie is determined to win Julia's heart before she says "I do" and becomes Mrs. Glen Guglia for good. (Her name is going to be Julia Guglia?!)

Bayou City Theatrics is thrilled to welcome guest-director Roy Hamlin to The Kaleidoscope, as he expertly guides the stellar cast. This rip-roaring musical also features electric choreography by Luke Hamilton and head-banging music direction by Jane Volke and Carol Daubert. The zany, neon-clad characters are brought to life by some of Houston's top-notch performers including Derrien Kellum (Holly), Jane Volke (Rosie), Nathan Costella, Jessica Ferguson, Jayson Kolbicz, Susan Ly, Nathanael Meister, Michelle Mayo, Devin Norwood, and Victoria Riley. THE WEDDING SINGER will have you dancing in your seats and singing all the way home!

The production runs Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 5:00 pm, February 5 through 21, at Bayou City Theatrics' downtown theater, The Kaleidoscope (705 Main Street, Suite B, facing Capitol). Tickets are available for purchase ($30-$35) at www.BayouCityTheatrics.com, or by calling the Box Office 832.817.8656. Tickets are available at the door, although BCT encourages purchasing tickets in advance to secure seating in their intimate venue. Convenient cash parking is located less than one block away at the corner of Capitol & Fannin, in the SAKS' garage.
