Just in time for Valentine's Day, Banks Brothers Productions will be presenting the World Premiere of the Irreverent Comedy "Auntie Shameka's Sixth Husband" written by Vincent Victoria at the Midtown Art Center (3414 La Branch) tonight, February 9th and the 10th, 2013.

Auntie Shameka's stage nuptials Billed as the "wedding of the theater season" by playwright Vincent Victoria, continues the farcical antics of Auntie Shameka "Shame" Kennedy, a flamboyant hairdresser from Houston's Third Ward, who is the modern day equivalent to Auntie Mame.

"I want to push a lot of buttons with this show."says Victoria, who has his leading character possibly entering into her first same sex marriage. Her previous FIVE marriages were of the more traditional version. "Gay marriage is still struggling to gain mainstream acceptance and in the African American community the subject is even more Taboo. I feel that depicting an actual gay marriage proposal and wedding onstage can make for an exciting evening of theater with lots of comic possibilities."

Banks Brothers Productions, co founded by Larry Banks along with Vincent Victoria, has been producing original works since 2008 including "They Don't Want To Hear Hattie Sing" and "Auntie Shameka:Woman of the Ghetto".

Auntie Shameka's Sixth Husband plays at 8:00 pm tonight, February 9 and at 3:00 pm
February 10 at Midtown Art Center 3414 La Branch Houston, Texas. Tickets are $10 online at www.banksbrothersproductions.com or $15.00 at the door.
