Following an award-winning second season, Philip Lehl and Kim Tobin, co-Executive Directors of Stark Naked Theatre Company, have announced the exciting line-up of plays selected for the theatre's highly-anticipated third season.

The 2013-2014 season opens on October 11th with the regional premiere of All Girls-directed by Julia Traber and featuring Houston-favorite Kim Tobin--in a hilarious and thought-provoking new play about friendship, fitting-in, and the joy and pain of growing up. Written by New York-based actor and playwright Anna Greenfield, the play was well-received by audiences and critics alike in its world premiere earlier this year at New York's Kraine Theatre.

Stark Naked Theatre's season continues with two plays-Faith Healer and The Good Thief--performed in repertory and directed by the incomparable John Tyson. This special two-play rotation opens on January 24th with Faith Healer. Described as an "exalting tale" by the New York Times, the play chronicles the life of faith healer Francis Hardy and stars Tyson, Kim Tobin, and Philip Lehl as Hardy, his wife Grace, and manager Teddy. Written by acclaimed Irish playwright Brian Friel, the play was first produced on Broadway in 1979, and it received four Tony nominations and one Tony award in the play's 2006 revival starring Ralph Fiennes. The second play featured in Stark Naked's repertory program is The Good Thief. Written by Olivier award-winning and Tony-nominated playwright Conor McPherson, the play features Santry Rush in an unforgettable story of one man's journey from the criminal underworld into redemption.

Stark Naked Theatre will conclude its third season with a bare-bones Shakespeare production (title to be announced) directed by Philip Lehl and running May 1 - through May 17th, 2014. Lehl's passion for, and knowledge of, Shakespeare is well-known (the Houston Press recently noted that Lehl "speaks Shakespeare as easily as breathing...famed soliloquies are master classes of passionate precision") and his vision for Stark Naked's closing play of the upcoming season is already well-defined. Lehl intends to assemble a creative team of designers, who, along with himself and co-Executive Director Kim Tobin, will select the play and collaborate with the 6-8 actor cast to create a unique piece of theatre with minimal set, costumes, and props. By stripping away the non-essential layers, and emphasizing the text, the actors-as well as the audience-will be immersed in the Bard's timeless storytelling.
