A. D. Players presents their final Mainstage production of the season, The Miracle Worker, opening tonight, May 13 and running through June 21, 2015 on the Grace Theater stage.

Winner of four Tony Awards including Best Play, The Miracle Worker is the story of Annie Sullivan and her blind and mute student, Helen Keller. Trapped in a secret silent world, unable to communicate, Helen is violent, spoiled, almost sub-human and treated by her family as such. Only Annie realizes that there is a mind and spirit waiting to be rescued from the dark, tortured silence.

"The Miracle Worker is the true story of the coming together of two remarkable people, Helen Keller and Annie Sullivan.... Each had a life full of tremendously difficult experiences... that primed them for the journey they were to take together. One was ready (and hungry) to be taught, the other was ready to help her learn about and communicate with the world around her." --- John Tyson, Director

The cast of The Miracle Worker includes A. D. Players' resident actors Patty Tuel Bailey, Craig Griffin, Ric Hodgin, Christy Watkins, as well as Guest Artists Arianna Bermudez, Elizabeth Marshall Black, McKay Lawless, Jesse Merrill, and Elena Vazquez.

The production team features scenic design by Mark A Lewis, lighting design by Andrew Vance, properties design by Abigail Kehr, costume design by Donna Southern Schmidt, and sound design by Santry Rush. Directed by John Tyson.
