Florida Rep Presents MURDER AT THE HOWARD JOHNSON'S, Beginning Tonight

Florida Repertory Theatre has announced the opening of Murder at the Howard Johnson's by Ron Clark and Sam Bobrick. This deliriously funny suspense comedy follows three hapless lovers as they try unsuccessfully to off one another in the most ridiculous ways.

Murder at the Howard Johnson's plays in the Arcade Theatre Dec. 5-21, with four nearly sold-out previews tonight, Dec. 2 through the 4th.

"At Florida Rep, we pride ourselves on producing a wide variety of plays," said Producing Artistic Director, Robert Cacioppo, "and this fall is the perfect example. We opened our season with a brand-new Tony-winning comedy, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, followed it up with the beautifully moving Off-Broadway drama, Tribes, and now we're pleased to be producing a comedy for comedy's sake. Our Christmas present to you this year is laughter!"

Love, marriage, betrayal, mayhem...and breakfast is included! Laughs come thick and fast in this unabashedly funny play about an ill-fated love triangle and three botched murder plots. Chaos ensues as a woman, her lover, and her husband plot and scheme to murder one another in a Howard Johnson's. "'Til death do us part" takes on new meaning as this clueless threesome leaves audiences wondering who loves who, who hates who, and who is even capable of pulling off a murder!

Murder at the Howard Johnson's features a fantastic cast of Florida Rep alums, Kim Ostrenko, ensemble memberBrendan Powers, and Graham Smith starring as the trio of amusingly nutty would-be murderers. Miami actress, Kim Ostrenko, most recently appeared as, Masha in this year's season opener Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. Powers has been a Florida Rep ensemble member since 2008 and has appeared in The Fantasticks, Doubt, Boeing-Boeing and many others. Smith made his Florida Rep debut as Hendry Ford in Camping with Henry and Tom, and was also seen as Vanya in this season's opener, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike.

Florida Rep Founder and Producing Artistic Director, Robert Cacioppo (Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike; Clybourne Park) directs the production, and is joined by an expert team of designers including set designer, Jim Hunter (August: Osage County), lighting designer, Kate Smith (Tribes), resident costume designer, Roberta Malcolm (Heart Song), sound designer, John Kiselica (Tribes), and production stage manager, Audrey M. Brown (My Three Angels).

Murder at the Howard Johnson's by Ron Clark and Sam Bobrick plays Dec. 5-21, with four nearly sold out preview performances tonight, December 2 through the 4th. Regular performances are Tues. - Sat. at 8pm, with matinees on Wed., Sun., and selected Saturdays at 2pm.
