Turandot beheads all her wooers, but Prince Calaf risks it all to defy the peril. Can his love melt the ice princess' heart? Set in the fantastical setting of Peking, Turandot is Puccini's final luminously melodic masterwork.
Chinese princess Turandot presents three riddles to her suitors, but if they answer wrong they pay with their life. Prince Calaf shocks the cruel princess by answering correctly. Puccini died before he could finish the last pages of his final work and the premiere of Turandot occurred after his death. Charged with bold harmonic progressions and the stunning 'Nessun dorma' aria, the music of Turandot has moved countless listeners around the globe.
