Wingspace Theatrical Design
Free program; no cash stipend
The Wingspace Mentorship Program, run by the volunteer collective Wingspace Theatrical Design in Brooklyn, provides practical knowledge, expert guidance and industry connections to young designers and directors who lack access to traditional professional networks. Mentees are paired with working theatre designers and directors from the Wingspace community over the program cycle; the site includes an overview, FAQ, mentor and mentee pages and a dedicated application form. A specific deadline for the current cycle is not posted on the program page.
Early-career designers and directors anywhere in the US who have experienced barriers to mentorship and professional networks (identity bias, citizenship status, ableism, elitism, etc.). Most mentors NYC-based; video conferencing used.

As part of its free virtual salon series, Wingspace Theatrical Design will present a conversation on Thursday, March 16 at 7:00pm ET with Amy Smith, tax preparer, artist, facilitator and educator, about navigating tax time as an artist or freelancer.
