Rufus and Margo Rose New Works Fund Grants

The Rufus and Margo Rose New Works Fund (formerly the Endowment Fund) is Puppeteers of America's biennial grant program supporting the creation of new professional puppet productions by North American puppeteers or companies with a current PofA member. Awards generally range from $500 to $1,000; the 2025 cycle gave three $750 grants each to emerging and established artists, with recipients ineligible to reapply for two subsequent cycles. Grants cannot fund travel, tours or bookings, and recipients must complete the project and file a final report within two years.

North American puppet companies or individuals; applicant or company member must be a current PofA member; recipients in the two previous cycles ineligible.

Awarded every other year. PofA also produces the National Puppetry Festival (registration-based, not a fellowship).
