Overview

Producing 101 is Theatre Producers of Color's flagship tuition-free, eleven-week program (held Monday evenings on Zoom, December through March) that trains BIPOC adults in the fundamentals of commercial theatre producing. Participants study topics such as anti-racist producing practices, first hires (general managers and lawyers), raising money, pitching, creative development, nonprofit collaboration, and marketing, learning directly from the teams behind current Broadway productions, and each member develops a case study on their own project or a current Broadway show, producing pitch materials and viability analysis. The program is mentored by Tony-winning producer Sammy Lopez of P3 Productions; the most recent application round closed in fall 2025.

Eligibility

BIPOC individuals 18+, any background or level of training

Notes
