Overview
The Orchard Project's Performance Lab is a self-directed summer residency in Saratoga Springs, NY for theatremakers, writers, composers, companies and ensembles with projects at any stage of development. Participants receive free rehearsal space, room and board at Skidmore College, open rehearsals for peers and industry, optional feedback from staff and fellow residents, community learning panels, and ongoing alumni support through OP Forward. There is no fee to apply or participate; submissions for all OP labs are made through a common application, with the 2026 deadline having been December 1, 2025.
Eligibility
Performance Lab supports ~30 projects/120 artists; Core Company is for emerging artists/recent graduates who assist residents while making their own work.
