La MaMa's Morgan Jenness Experiments in Playwriting Fellowship gives two early-career New York City-area playwrights a year-long artistic home at La MaMa, aligned with its September-June season, with an emphasis on writers from underproduced communities including LGBTQ+ artists, people of color and people with disabilities. Fellows meet monthly with mentor Justin Elizabeth Sayre, have access to La MaMa's extensive Off-Off-Broadway archive, receive complimentary tickets to the season, and present an open reading through the Experiments Play Reading Series. Each fellow receives a $1,500 stipend; the program is supported by the Jerome Foundation and 2026-27 applications are closed.
