The McKnight Fellowship in Playwriting, administered by the Playwrights' Center, recognizes mid-career playwrights living and working in Minnesota who show a sustained body of work and distinct artistic vision. The year-long fellowship (July-June) includes a $25,000 stipend, $2,500 for a play-development workshop and professional expenses, and $1,400 in travel funds; fellows become Affiliated Writers afterward. Applicants must have been continuous Minnesota residents since at least January 2025 and have had at least one professionally produced play; the 2026-27 fellows are Rachel Lynett and MK Tuomanen.
