Overview

The Four Directions Native Playwright Residency is a partnership among Great Plains Theatre Commons, Tofte Lake Center, Tulsa Artist Fellowship and Kansas City Repertory Theatre. Each organization hosts the selected Native playwright for a week-long residency over the course of a year, with each week in a different part of the country and a distinct focus for work on the play. The residency covers travel, room and board and pays a $1,000 stipend per week; recipients to date include Madeline Easley, Drew Woodson, Tomi Endter and 2026 playwright Dillon Chitto.

Eligibility

Native and Indigenous playwrights who have advanced beyond the beginning stage of their careers.
